Function Design Engineer – Aftertreatment OBD
Trinamics
- Lead the development of OBD and OBM control concepts for diesel, hybrid, and hydrogen engines, ensuring compliance with OBD regulations
- Design and verify new OBD diagnostic concepts, performing impact analysis to support regulatory requirements
- Develop controller concepts, evaluate supplier capabilities, and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with internal teams (OBD calibration, validation, compliance) and act as a liaison between suppliers and PACCAR for OBD/OBM solutions
- Analyze new hardware changes or control strategies to assess OBD impacts
- Support principal engineers in CARB discussions with technical insights and simulations
- Bachelor or Master degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of emissions and OBD regulations
- Proven experience in aftertreatment, OBD development cycles, and control concept implementation
- Proficiency in Six Sigma processes (e.g., DMAIC, DFSS, FMEA)
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, and requirement engineering tools such as DOORS Next Generation
- Salary range: €5,000 - €7,000 gross per month.
